Assassins-Creed-Liberation

Ubisoft bringing "Assassin's Creed" naval combat to mobile and "Assassin's Creed: Liberation" to consoles.

"Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD" is under development for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, bringing last year's PS Vita stealth-action game to consoles. Besides a graphical overhaul, "Liberation HD" will also have remastered music, new missions, and revamped gameplay for consoles (presumably to accommodate more buttons on a full-sized controller).

From the official synopsis:

The year is 1765. While the seeds of the American Revolution are being sewn in Boston and New York, Spanish forces in the South plot to seize control of Louisiana for the Templars, threatening to forever shift the balance of power in the New World. As Templars secretly take hold of the slave trade in New Orleans, Aveline de Grandpré, an assassin of mixed French and African heritage, stands ready to defend her people. She soon finds herself on an unforgettable journey that will take her from the crowded streets of New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins. Whether eliminating her enemies with new assassination skills or luring them into cunning traps, Aveline strikes mortal fear into the hearts of those who would stand against freedom.

"Liberation HD" isn't the only game in the franchise under development: the naval combat mode of "Assassin's Creed III" is coming to mobile devices with "Assassin's Creed: Pirates," which is being built by Ubisoft Paris. The game introduces a new protagonist, pirate Alonzo Batilla, who'll be responsible for outfitting his ship and managing his crew before setting off for naval engagements.

In their press release, Ubisoft didn't provide dates for either title.
